Professor Denis Feeney: ‘The strangeness of translation: Greek, Latin and English’

Friday 31 Jan, 5pm - Regent’s Park College, Collier Room.

Regent’s Park Classics Society is delighted to be welcoming Professor Denis Feeney of Princeton University, to give a talk titled ‘The strangeness of translation: Greek, Latin and English’. Professor Feeney’s publications range from The Gods in Epic to Caesar’s Calendar, and he is widely known for his work on Latin literature and Roman culture. This talk promises to be fascinating, and a great opportunity to hear a distinguished Classicist speak on a topic that spans both ancient and modern literature. It is likely to be of particular interest to students of Classics & English and Classics & Modern Languages.

A drinks reception will be held after the talk.
