Looking beyond letterpress in 18th-century texts: The Lyell Lectures, 2015

Professor Michael F. Suarez, S.J., will deliver the Lyell Lectures in Weeks 1-3 of Trinity Term. ThesLyell Lectures 2015e annual lectures explore aspects of book history and bibliography. This year, under the title ‘The Reach of Bibliography,’ Professor Suarez introduces six extraordinary histories of  print production and publication, starting with the fully-engraved edition of Horace’s works produced by John Pine in 1733.

The lectures take place in the Weston Library, Tuesdays and Thursdays of Weeks 1-3, at 5 pm. Registration is recommended.

Professor Suarez will lead seminars on Wednesdays and Fridays of Weeks 1-3 [from 3-4:15 pm in Week 1; from 2:15 -3:30 in Weeks 2-3]; to register for these, email [email protected]
