Researchers Required for Consultancy Project at Uppark

The National Trust, in partnership with Oxford University, is looking for researchers with knowledge of eighteenth-century domestic practices, sociability and polite culture to participate in an expert workshop at Uppark.

Uppark houses one of the most significant surviving early eighteenth-century Dolls Houses and the National Trust’s property staff and curators hope to achieve greater knowledge and understanding of:

  • eighteenth-century domestic and polite practices, as represented in the Uppark Dolls House.
  • the changing role of Dolls Houses from 1700 to the present day.

This workshop will inform the National Trust’s interpretation strategy at the property with the aim of increasing visitors’ enjoyment and understanding.

If your research touches on any of these themes, and you have an interest in acting as a consultant for an internationally significant heritage organisation, please email Dr Oliver Cox ([email protected]) for the detailed client brief prepared by the National Trust.
