William Blake LiveFriday at the Ashmolean Museum - Seeking Volunteers

On the 30th January 2015, the Ashmolean Museum will be throwing open its doors between 7 and 10.30pm for a evening of entertainment in celebration of William Blake, whose work is being exhibited at the museum from 4 Dec 2021 - 1 March 2015. LiveFridays are a part of the museum’s free outreach programme, designed to make the collections more accessible, and feature live music, performances, workshops, and tours - with up to 6,000 visitors at each event. We are looking for volunteers with an academic interest in Blake to present our ‘One-Object Tour’ project on the night; each speaker chooses an object in the collections as a starting point for discussing whatever topic they like connected to Blake. The guides are stationed in the galleries on the night to tell visitors about their object. If you have a theme in mind but haven’t found an object, we can suggest one to you. We would appreciate it if you could pass this message on to anyone who you think might be interested. Please email Lucie Dawkins at [email protected] to get involved.
