Romanticism and Eighteenth-Century Studies Oxford is based at the University of Oxford, and gratefully funded by a grant awarded by the Faculty of English. This website is hosted by WordPress, and is based around the Twenty Ten theme with custom design and development by Adam Bridgen. The website is currently updated and administrated by Kathleen Lawton-Trask. Its typefaces are LTC Bodoni 175 and FF Meta Serif, provided by Typekit. Our logo and page headers were developed using Inkscape, and are the intellectual property of RECSO, January 2014.
In line with the recently publicised aims of TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities), RECSO’s primary objective is to establish a framework for interdisciplinary and collaborative research in the long eighteenth century (1660-1830), both within Oxford and with other academic institutions. Our mailing list comprises over 400 members from the departments of English, Classics, History, History of Art, Medieval & Modern Languages, Music, Oriental Studies, Philosophy, Politics, Theology, and the Besterman Centre for the Enlightenment. In addition, we provide links to more than 50 study groups across the UK and abroad, as well as professional societies and journals, and over 300 links to relevant online resources.
